What is Stock Sharing?
Stock Sharing allows Locally partners to automatically view inventory levels for their products at your store. Participation in Stock Sharing is automatic when you receive brand authorization through Locally. You can see your list of brand authorizations by accessing Relationship Manager in your Locally dashboard. You can learn more about Relationship Manager in this article.
If you have questions about how a specific brand uses Stock Sharing you can reach out to them directly for more information.
Benefits of Stock Sharing
When retailers share their store inventory with brands, it can lead to several benefits, including reduced stockouts, improved customer satisfaction, better demand forecasting, increased sales, more efficient inventory management, and valuable insights into customer buying patterns by allowing brands to react quicker to market trends and optimize their product offerings based on real-time data from the retail level.
Inventory Sharing Reduces Backorders and Out-of-Stock Issues – this allows your Brands to forecast more accurately to ensure high-running items have replenishment inventory available.
Inventory Sharing Helps You Sell-through Excess Inventory – this allows your Brands to work with you on overstock items and drive additional promotion opportunities to drive sell-through.
Opting Out of Stock Sharing
While participation is automatic, retailers may request to opt out of sharing inventory with specific brands. To do so:
Email support@locally.com with your request, specifying the brand.
Keep in mind that some brands may have agreements requiring Stock Sharing participation to ensure visibility on their platforms. In such cases, Locally will notify the brand’s Customer Success Manager (CSM) to coordinate next steps before the opt-out is processed.
